| Island of Telendos, Greece. Evening arrival by sailboat, sun up at work |
My husband and I spent most of 2009 in Greece where we had the time to visit many of the famous sites on the mainland and and also to visit many of the islands. There is a very special light that emanates from the land and the sea. At times, it was purely magical.
We made two separate week long trips by sailboat in the Islands. The first one started in Kos with visits to Pserimnos, Kalymnos, Leros and Patmos, among others. The second took us to from Athens to Napflio, with stops in Paros, Spetses and Ydra. I was thrilled to be able to paint almost everywhere we went. We had fresh fish everywhere we went.

I completed over 30 canvases while I was there, and there was a show of them just before we left Greece to return to the US. Many of them are represented here in the Greece 2009 Gallery, but not all of them because they were out the door before I could get them photographed!
My husband and I had a wonderful time while we were there, making many friends whom I am sure we will know forever.
